We had a wonderful day in the sun today. Going for walks, playing at the park, going for a boat ride with Grandma and Grandpa York, and rollerblading. What a busy day. With sunny weather for the next week we definately won't be spending much time at home! Enjoy the sun!

What has Jackson been up to.....
Jackson loves jumping in this puddle after it has rained for a few days. I put his boots and sweat pants on and let him go. He was happy splashing for a good 30 minutes until he lost his balance and fell over and really got wet. Then he was done!
He played with this stick and rock for the longest time, just throwing them in the water and picking them back up again. If you listen closely he starts barking like the neighbors dog, then takes time to watch an airplane go by. He is too funny! (Kristine if you are reading this, this is what you have to look forward to! Boys are so much fun!)
We have also discovered Jackson's new favorite treat. He doesn't get much sugar, but he will sure guzzle down an orange julius!

How does your garden grow?
BUSY.....BUSY......BUSY!

I can't wait till we can walk out and pick fresh vegetables anytime we want to. Pray for sun!
We have been doing all sorts of things that seem to keep us really busy these days. The sun has finally decided to make an appearance so we have been outside a lot.
A few weeks ago my dad helped me build some planter boxes so that I could have a small garden. For years we have had a good sized garden out at my aunt and uncle's house in Deming, but it just got to be too far to drive to try and keep up with a garden. So with a little encouragement from my sister-in-law (she has a beautiful garden also) this is what we have:
First we had to burn all the sticks and branches that were in the space where we wanted to put the garden
Then we took a trip to Home Depot to pick out the wood
Next we built the boxes (mostly my dad, I was trying to watch two kids, thanks dad!) Didn't get a picture of the finished boxes before I started on the dirt, woops!
Then came time to shovel load after load of dirt. This was the hardest part of the whole project.
Boxes pretty much filled. We had to put the ends on and do a little more dirt.
All finished and planted. We planted onion, carrots, radishes, garlic, red potato, tomato, green peppers, red peppers, beans, peas and corn.
And this is what it looks like today. Everything has popped up except the red potatoes.
Look closely and you can see little sprouts
Pea sprouts
I can't wait till we can walk out and pick fresh vegetables anytime we want to. Pray for sun!

Quack....Quack
This school quarter is proving to be a very busy one for Jonathan. He is taking 16 credits, as well as working 40+ hours a week at work. The few hours he does have at home are either spent sleeping or studying. So yesterday while Jonathan was trying to get a little studying done before he had to go to work, Jackson and I decided to go pay a visit to the ducks! We went on Saturday with Brooklin to feed the ducks, but decided to go by ourselves this time. It was fun to watch Jackson watch the ducks. The ducks were pretty feisty. I don't know if they were hungry or just because it is that time of season!!! Either way we enjoyed our time. Too bad Dad couldn't have joined us, maybe next time.

COMMITMENT & EASTER
I have heard through the grapevine that there are people out there who check blogs daily only to be disappointed that nothing has changed. I'm here to make a new commitment.....I'm going to try and blog more than once a month. Not to put the blame on anyone, but most of our pictures are taken with Jonathan's camera and therefore have to be downloaded onto the computer, then converted to Jpeg before they can be blogged. Too many steps for me! But I have come to the conclusion that if "someone"who has an 18 month old and a two week old can find the time to blog then I have no excuse!!
We have been busy lately enjoying the great outdoors. Jackson is his happiest when he can be outside wondering and discovering. His favorite is jumping in the puddles just after it has rained. Pics to come later. We enjoyed a fun Easter weekend with almost all of my family. We had a big lunch followed by an egg hunt Saturday, then a big family dinner on Sunday after church. It was fun to spend time with family from out of town, as well as family in town.

Jackson really enjoyed this Easter. He loved gathering eggs in his basket on Sat. Sunday when he got up and saw his Easter basket from the easter bunny, all he wanted was the soccer ball. He didn't care about the candy, book or finding more eggs. All he wanted to do was throw and kick his ball around.
