BACKYARD MAKEOVER PART 2

The building of the play set!  Don’t ever let a project that has a specified number of hours it takes to do it fool you!  This play set said it would take two adults 10-12 hours to build.  What a joke…more like 20 hours and four capable adults.  Thanks to all the many helpers who made this come together.

Part 3(a border around the play set) and Part 4(filled in with gravel and sand) are complete now, but we don’t have the pictures on the computer yet….coming soon!  Jackson loves it.

Playtime with Evan

Jackson loves playing with all of his cousins.  One of his favorite hang out places is Paden and Evan’s house (which is what he calls it).  I think he loves all of their boy toys.   The other day he got some good one on one time with Evan.  It was so fun watching them play together.

BACKYARD MAKEOVER PART 1

We have been waiting for the rain to stop and for things to dry a little so we could tackle a major backyard makeover at my parents house.  We finally saw a window of opportunity and jumped on it.  We had to bring in the big guns for this project.  We are excited to get this project going and completed as it will create a great place for all the kids to play and love to come to grandma and grandpa’s house!  Here are some before and after pictures of what we have accomplished so far and some of the fun along the way.

Attack of the Ninja part 2

Jackson loves playing with blocks this is a tower that I helped him make.  He then decided to destroy it.  I told him he had to wait till I got the camera.  The little ninja strikes again!!

Ninja Skills

One of the great things about being a dad is that I get to teach my son all of the cool ninja skills that I learned from my Dad.  We didn’t have any loose fabric laying around, so I tied two black church socks together for his bandana.  Now all I have to worry about is him not using his incredible ninja skills on innocent bystanders.

Last of the Mojackian’s

I discovered a strange young man roaming around our back-yard. He says he is the last of an ancient warrior tribe called the Mojackian’s. He is an expert hunter, and tracker. The outdoors seems to be his natural element, where he can be at one with nature. Here are a few snapshots of this rare creature, that I got deep within the woods behind grandma’s house.

Jackson loves to be outside. Everyday is an adventure for this young man. He has skills in seeing funness in everything, along with swinging sticks, and the average fighting ninja skills that all boys seem to come preprogrammed with.

FAMILY TIME AT THE TULIPS

SINCE JONATHAN IS SO BUSY THIS QUARTER WITH HIS SCHOOL AND WORK SCHEDULE WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE BETTER USE OF OUR FAMILY TIME. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE TULIP FESTIVAL IN MT. VERNON SINCE WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED, SO WE DECIDED TO CHECK IT OUT. IT WAS A LITTLE BREEZY, BUT THE SUNSHINE FELT GREAT.

Jackson tripped a few times and after the third time he decided it was better just to stay down!

It was a good thing that there were puddles to entertain Jackson, because I don't think he really cared to much for the flowers! Boots are a must at the Tulips!
