BACKYARD MAKEOVER PART 1

We have been waiting for the rain to stop and for things to dry a little so we could tackle a major backyard makeover at my parents house.  We finally saw a window of opportunity and jumped on it.  We had to bring in the big guns for this project.  We are excited to get this project going and completed as it will create a great place for all the kids to play and love to come to grandma and grandpa’s house!  Here are some before and after pictures of what we have accomplished so far and some of the fun along the way.

Attack of the Ninja part 2

Jackson loves playing with blocks this is a tower that I helped him make.  He then decided to destroy it.  I told him he had to wait till I got the camera.  The little ninja strikes again!!

Ninja Skills

One of the great things about being a dad is that I get to teach my son all of the cool ninja skills that I learned from my Dad.  We didn’t have any loose fabric laying around, so I tied two black church socks together for his bandana.  Now all I have to worry about is him not using his incredible ninja skills on innocent bystanders.

Last of the Mojackian’s

I discovered a strange young man roaming around our back-yard. He says he is the last of an ancient warrior tribe called the Mojackian’s. He is an expert hunter, and tracker. The outdoors seems to be his natural element, where he can be at one with nature. Here are a few snapshots of this rare creature, that I got deep within the woods behind grandma’s house.

Jackson loves to be outside. Everyday is an adventure for this young man. He has skills in seeing funness in everything, along with swinging sticks, and the average fighting ninja skills that all boys seem to come preprogrammed with.

FAMILY TIME AT THE TULIPS

SINCE JONATHAN IS SO BUSY THIS QUARTER WITH HIS SCHOOL AND WORK SCHEDULE WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE BETTER USE OF OUR FAMILY TIME. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE TULIP FESTIVAL IN MT. VERNON SINCE WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED, SO WE DECIDED TO CHECK IT OUT. IT WAS A LITTLE BREEZY, BUT THE SUNSHINE FELT GREAT.

Jackson tripped a few times and after the third time he decided it was better just to stay down!

It was a good thing that there were puddles to entertain Jackson, because I don't think he really cared to much for the flowers! Boots are a must at the Tulips!

BIG BOY BED

OUR LITTLE GUY IS A BIG BOY! A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO WE BOUGHT JACKSON A BIG BOY BED. COSTCO HAD A GREAT PRICE ON A BUNK BED WITH A TRUNDLE THAT WE COULDN'T PASS UP. WE KNEW AT THE TIME THAT WE WEREN'T READY TO SWITCH HIM FROM HIS CRIB (HE HADN'T EVEN TRIED CLIMBING OUT OF HIS CRIB YET)BUT WE ALL KNOW THE GOLDEN RULE ABOUT COSTCO....BUY IT WHEN YOU SEE IT, IT WON'T BE THERE THE NEXT TIME YOU GO! SO WE DID! THE OTHER DAY HE WAS IN HIS ROOM AND SOMEHOW HE MANAGED TO GET HIMSELF STUCK BETWEEN HIS CRIB AND THE COUCH (NOT DANGEROUSLY STUCK, BUT ENOUGH TO MAKE HIM CALL FOR HELP). SO WE DECIDED TO SET UP THE BIG BED. WE PUT IT TOGETHER MONDAY NIGHT, BUT COULDN'T GET A MATTRESS UNTIL TODAY. WE HAVE BEEN HYPING IT UP TRYING TO GET HIM COMFORTABLE ABOUT SWITCHING, AND TODAY WAS THE DAY. JONATHAN READ HIM A STORY BEFORE HIS NAP AND LAYED HIM RIGHT DOWN. WE THOUGHT HE MIGHT FUSS AND WANT TO BE IN THE CRIB (IT IS STILL IN HIS ROOM) BUT HE LAYED RIGHT DOWN. OTHER THAN A RENDITION OF "OLD MCDONALD" I HAVEN'T HEARD A PEEP FROM HIS ROOM FOR ALMOST AN HOUR AND A HALF. I DID CHECK IN ON HIM AFTER ABOUT 45 MINUTES OF SILENCE, AND HE WAS SOUND ASLEEP, STILL IN HIS NEW BED. HE LOOKED SO PRECIOUS! AND SO TINY IN THAT BIG BED. HE'S GROWING UP TOO FAST!
